With almost 9,000 orders for the Grenadier already locked and loaded throughout North America, the electric SUV is coming to Canada in the first quarter of 2024.

INEOS Automotive recently revealed its choices for the first two Canadian dealers to bring the innovative, off-road, adventure-focused station wagon to Ontario and British Columbia. INEOS chairman Jim Ratcliffe, also a car enthusiast and adventurer, says he created the brand to fill a gap in the market.

The Dilawri Group will be offering the vehicle in the Ontario market, while Weissach Automotive will serve British Columbia.

These two dealerships, to be run by well-known names in the Canadian auto industry, join the 19 other rooftops announced in the U.S. market.

Dilawri INEOS Grenadier is located on 5515 Ambler Drive, Mississauga, Ontario; while Weissach INEOS Grenadier will open at 1757 W. 2nd Avenue in Vancouver.

“We are proud to play a foundational role in launching the INEOS Grenadier brand in Canada, and are looking forward to engaging with and supporting customers from across Eastern Canada” said David Boots, vice president of real estate and strategic development at Dilawri, in a press release. “From our perspective, the INEOS brand’s philosophy and the Grenadier’s uncompromising capability align with the demands and expectations of Canadian consumers, who are seeking a vehicle that can complement their active lifestyles and desire for adventure. Our shared commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences will serve as a solid foundation for the brand’s successful launch.”

The new location is still under construction, but a temporary site is open across the street to allow customers to engage with the brand before the dealership is completed. The new location is expected to be completed in January 2024, and deliveries are expected to begin later in the year, according to Dilawri.

An INEOS press release said the pair of dealers will also provide sales and service operations for Grenadier customers going forward in the Canadian market.

“We spent a long time selecting an exceptional team of experienced dealers to guide the Grenadier home for our customers,” said Greg Clarke, executive VP for the Americas at INEOS. “In conjunction with these partners, we are committed to providing first-class sales and service. We know the potential for Grenadier sales in Canada is great, and we look forward to being an important part of the automotive industry here.”

The Grenadier station wagon has a starting price of $91,929 (CAD). This coming year, INEOS will also debut its double-cab pick-up called the Quartermaster, which will also include the same off-road capabilities.

Production for the North American market started back in September, with deliveries in the U.S. ramping up in November. As the new year begins, deliveries will ensue for Canadian buyers.
